Electromagnets

Electromagnets are a type of temporary magnet in which the magnetic field is produced when we induce electric current and it stops being a magnet when the electric current flow stops.

Negative or electropermanent electromagnets work in the opposite way to conventional electromagnets. Without electric current, they already attract, because they are made with permanent magnets such as Neodymium, Ferrite or Alnico magnets.

In this case, we use the electric current flow to counteract the magnetic field of the magnet.

Shunt electromagnets work by generating a movement in their stem. They push or pull by exerting a certain force.

Advantages of Electromagnets:

The main advantage of electromagnets over permanent magnets is that the magnetic field can be quickly controlled by a power supply and current control.

This makes electromagnets present in most sectors for any application or mechanism.
